fish jumpin CAPO on 4th fret... this tab is written as if the capo is the nut (ie: if it says 1 it means one fret up from the capo) . = beat count c = "chuck" - slap/ strike your curled fingers against the strings, with right-hand palm muting h = hammer-on p = pull-off / = slide up each count of the beat's divided into 3 dashes because it's a rolling rhythm; one-and-a two-and-a three-and-a... some of the notes may not be in the exactly right spot, but I'm sure you'll get it. Notice that the first two notes of the riff (or any other 2) aren't played together; the note on the 'b' string comes just before the one count. Use your thumb for the two bass strings & finger the rest. e-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- b------------3--0--------0-----------3--0--------0------1p0--0-----------------------0-----------------------3- g-------------------0h2-----0---0-----------0h2-----0------2----0--------0-----/2p0-2---0--------0---------0--- D-------------------------------------------------------------------0h2-----0---------------0h2-----0---0h2---- A------------------3-----------3-----------3-----------3-----------3-----------3-----------3-----------3------- E-------------3-----------3-----------3-----------3-----------3-----------3-----------3-----------3------------ 1&a2&a3&a4&a. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . c c c c c c c c c c c c c c this should get you going, anyway... start with the two bass strings & get that rhythm going, with the chucks setting the offbeat rhythm like a snare drum... when you start playing the melody, there are some times when a note falls on the same beat as the chuck, so I leave the chuck out (noted above). for the most part, you just get the rhythm going between the B and E notes in the bass, & do whatever you want on the higher strings. this is just the intro to the song but I imagine once you get the idea, you can figure out the solo, etc. on your own. best of luck, & thanks for your interest, scott
